Professional vs. Palin: How To Dress For Success

Professional vs. Palin: How To Dress For Success

Whether you are Democrat, Republican or Independent, you can agree that having a women on the Presidential ticket is a historic moment. The problem is that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, children, the blind, and maybe even people in comas can tell that Sarah Palin has dressed more like a whore in a business women’s clothing then a Vice Presidential candidate. Things just don’t line up. One moment she has a skirt suit on with red patent leather pumps, or she says F-it completely and wears a red suit, no collared shirt, and knee high leather boots. Most of time we can’t tell if she is trying to sell cosmetics at the mall or show us a Manhattan apartment rental.

Many people spend a ton of time tearing down Sarah Palin over everything from her beliefs and general lack of professional stage presence to her seeming limited intellect and education. Many politicians over time have been as slow minded and buffoonish as she is. At least these political figures in the past had a collared shirt, pair of conservative shoes, and didn’t wave their hands around like a 16 year old beauty queen high on diet pills.

Little girls all over the country are looking up to Palin as the first women to run for the White House. We all know McCain picked her to try and get the backing of folks that wanted Hillary to win, just because she was a women. WAKE up McCain and company! Not only did Hillary have the ability to carry out a conversation astutely, but also she had very conservative, professional attire on all the time. Not to mention she was down right ugly. Now we have young women looking up to an attractive, unprofessionally dressed, slow-minded dummy. Isn’t this exactly the kind of person we don’t want our young women to grow up to be? So let’s break things down and find out what a today’s women should do to dress for success. See you in the Solution.

Professional vs. Palin: Solution

SUIT SUIT SUIT!!!! We cannot stress this enough. Today’s business world is extremely competitive. There are many extremely talented educated women in the work force. If you want to have a professional appearance, you need to wear a suit. It’s your choice if you want a skirt or pant suit, just make sure it is not velvet, red, or has satin ribbons. Represent yourself as you are; an intelligent professional person.

By all means, get a collared shirt. Palin has had on 3 million different jackets, from suit coats, to leather and maybe only one of those times she had a collared shirt on. A collared shirt really brings an air of professionalism to the table. It conveys to others that you are serious and grounded. Wearing a low cut top or blouse truly works against you. Low cut clothing in a professional environment tends to send the message that you are a sexual object, not an intelligent, empowered woman.

For shit’s sake, buy a pair of conservative shoes, dark black/brown pumps or loafers. No open toed shoes, red patent leather pumps or casual flats. Your shoes should have the same level or professionalism as your suit, or collared shirt and slacks. We love sexy shoes, but save them for the club.

Finally, get your hair and makeup in order. Makeup is a very important piece of many women’s presentation. However, there is a huge difference between doing your makeup for the office and doing your make up for a night on the town with the girls. Somewhere along the way Palin got lost. She often had more rouge and lip stick on then a trany on Broadway.  Be subtle in your choice of colors and amounts of make up. Rule of thumb, if you can’t picture your first grade teacher wearing it, then you shouldn’t wear it to the office or to the White House.
